Solarbabies
Orphaned children, most of them are teens, live in a tyrannical orphanage controlled by the new rulers of the Earth in a future where most water has been drained from the planet. Roller skating is used to play a hockey-like game, and the team in question is really adept at it. Despite the government's efforts to bring them under control, they have formed a strong bond. They discover that a mysterious ball of power they discover has strange effects on them.
