Sobibor
The movie is based on a true story that took place in 1943 in Sobibor, a concentration camp in Poland that was run by the Germans. Alexander Pechersky, a Jewish Soviet soldier who was a lieutenant in the Red Army at the time, is the main character in the movie. In October 1943, he was caught by the Nazis and sent to Sobibor, a concentration camp where Jews were being killed in gas chambers. But Alexander was able to plan an international uprising of prisoners from Poland and Western Europe in just three weeks. This was the only successful uprising during the whole war, and it let the most prisoners out of a Nazi concentration camp.
