The film Shadow Game is an overview of the far-reaching implications of European asylum policy told through an experimental filmmaking style. As a result of the recent construction of barriers around Europe, applying for asylum is now nearly impossible. Along their journey, the adolescents travel across cold terrain and come into contact with hostile border patrol agents. It is now more difficult than it has ever been for them to reach their ultimate aim. Their travels take them across the entirety of Europe, beginning in Greece and continuing on via North Macedonia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, before ending in Italy, France, and the Netherlands. The movie was shot over the course of three years, with some of it being done so by the major protagonists on their own personal cell phones.
