Physicist Bruno Hamel has been practicing medicine for thirty-eight years. He lives in Drummondville with his wife Sylvie and their daughter Jasmine, who is eight years old. Then, on a lovely autumn afternoon in his hometown, his daughter is raped and murdered, just as so many other happy people have done before them. The Hamel family's world comes crashing down from that point on. Upon learning of the murderer's detention, Bruno's gloomy mind begins to hatch a horrific plot of his own.
