Johan and Marianne are happily married and appear to have everything. Their contentment, however, is a smokescreen concealing a rocky relationship that becomes much more difficult when Johan confesses to having an affair. Within a short period of time, the spouses split and begin the process of finalizing their divorce, but they make attempts at reconciliation. While pursuing other relationships, Johan and Marianne recognize that they share a strong bond, but also face numerous obstacles to that connection.
