While on the trail of a violent band of outlaws along the United States' southern border, a seasoned US Marshal is ambushed. The Marshal is left for dead until he is rescued by a lost Navajo child, with whom he develops an unexpected connection. It takes all of the Marshal's survival abilities to keep them both safe as they transport the young kid back to his Navajo homeland in Monument Valley, where they were raised.
