Run Boy Run is based on the true story of Jurek, an eight-year-old boy who escapes the Warsaw ghetto and survives in the woods as a farmhand while disguised as a Polish orphan. He meets people who will betray him for a reward, who will beat him up or try to kill him, as well as those who will go to great lengths and risk everything to help him. When an accident paralyzes Jurek, making it difficult for him to find work, his fortitude is put to the ultimate test. Despite this, he continues to fight. The Russians eventually arrive in his area, and Jurek even finds a family who will let him stay with them. However, he is betrayed once more, and a young man from a Jewish orphanage tries valiantly to bring Jurek back to his people and faith.
