A realistic portrayal of working-class life in Yorkshire. Two teenage females having an affair with a married man. Serious and funny at times. Andrea Dunbar adapted Rita, Sue And Bob Too from two of her own controversial plays. Two adolescents from Bradford's run-down council estate, Rita (Siobhan Finneran) and Sue (Michelle Holmes), babysit Bob (George Costigan) and Michelle's (Lesley Sharp) kids. Bob takes Rita and Sue up to a deserted country area one night while driving them home. Rita and Sue, knowing exactly what he wants, gladly oblige and have regular sexual encounters with him. Despite its obvious political incorrectness, this is a funny, entertaining film with a sharp, gritty undertone that ought to be seen.
