Is there room in Los Angeles for principle? Mike Terry is a jujitsu instructor who is barely scraping by. His Brazilian wife, whose family promotes fights, wants to see Mike in the ring making money, but he considers competition to be demeaning. A woman sideswipes Mike's car before shooting out the studio window in an unusual sequence of events. Later that night, Mike intervenes in a bar fistfight to save an action movie star. In exchange, the actor befriends Mike, gives him a gift, offers him work on his newest film, and introduces Mike's wife to his own - the women initiate business transactions. Then everything goes wrong at once, Mike's debts pile up, and fighting may be Mike's only option.
