She overpowered the guardians and snatched the Sun Duck for the sole reason that any living woman could comprehend: endless youth and dazzling beauty. Nobody believes in ancient legends nowadays. Mandarin ducks live happily on their island and strictly adhere to the law prohibiting "flying on the island" and "never leaving the island." The Emperor is the only one who is aware of the legend's veracity and the birth of the next generation Sun Duck. He maintains absolute secrecy about it, but the Witch is also aware that the legend is true and that she will return for her next victim.
