With her three tamed weasels, Pil, a young vagrant, makes her home on the streets of the medieval city of Roc-en-Brume. She eats food she stole from the palace of the evil Regent Tristain to keep herself alive. Someday, Pil decides to disguise herself as a princess in order to sneak past his guards. That's why she's going on this crazy, delirious trip with Crobar, the large, clumsy guard who thinks she's a noble, and Rigolin, the young, lunatic jester. Roland, the legitimate successor to the throne, is currently under a curse, and Pil must break the magic in order to free Roland. It is through this experience that Pil will learn that nobility resides in each of us, and that it is this realization that will cause the entire kingdom to be turned upside down.
