Matt, a self-absorbed young attorney, pays a visit to his grandfather, an eccentric recluse who lives in the backwoods without running water, power, or a phone, to persuade him not to give away his inheritance as he intends. But in the end, it is Matt who is persuaded to make some adjustments in his life. Jason London and Ed Asner feature in this film. When a woman needs someone to look after her aging father (Ed Asner), her irresponsible son isn't the first person she thinks of. How can Matt (Jason London) be expected to check in on his grandfather when he can't get his profession, love life, or finances in order? Matt, however, is driven by desperation to visit his grandfather in the middle of nowhere. This bare-bones life takes some getting used to for Matt, but then he meets a single mother who teaches him about the simple life.
