Ren Amari is the passionate creator of a groundbreaking new medication. OtherLIfe enhances the brain's sense of time and produces virtual reality directly in the consciousness of the user. With OtherLife, seconds in actual life feel like hours or days of thrilling adventures. As Ren and her coworkers rush against the clock to launch OtherLife, the government intervenes to utilize the drugs as a radical solution to jail overpopulation. They will construct virtual prison cells in which convicts will serve lengthy terms in few minutes. When Ren refuses, she finds herself in her imagination as a reluctant guinea pig imprisoned in a cell. She must flee before she goes into madness and retake control of OtherLife before others experience the same fate.
