Ninth Happiness
The villagers of Choi Hung are all goodhearted singers and hard workers. Chi Wan, the local beauty, thinks the man she meets in the woods is a fairy and falls in love with him. He asks her sister, Heung, for help while secretly pursuing Chi Wan, and she recommends that he buy a fan for her. As a result of this misunderstanding, jealousy breaks out between Chi Wan and Heung's boyfriend, Dup, because they believe the stranger and Heung are romantically linked. The new town official and his rough enforcer are brothers who have just moved to town and can't believe there's no graft and corruption to profit from, so they try to open a whorehouse. In addition, they're after Chi Wan. Does anyone think this can be fixed? Does good eventually win? Who is this mysterious visitor, anyway?
