When heiress Jean Courtland attempts suicide, her fiancée Elliott Carson investigates her relationship with John Triton. We observe in flashback how stage mentalist Triton begins to experience terrible flashes of actual precognition. Whitney Courtland, Triton's partner, utilizes his talent to generate money; but, Triton's inability to avoid what he foresees forces him to break up the act and become a hermit. Triton gets fresh visions years later and urgently seeks to prevent tragedy in the Courtland family. Can his warnings overcome distrust, unbelief, and fate's inevitability?
