Chris has only recently relocated to the East Coast, and his workaholic father has already encouraged him to seek new acquaintances. Fortunately, football (soccer) practice has begun, and Chris meets a couple of the team's members, including his adorable neighbor Mara. Chris accepts Mara's invitation to assist her in rescuing several abused animals from the local fair. They attempt to enter the fair that night, but are apprehended by ringleader Malick, who chases them off the premises. Chris is unaware Momo, a sweet little monkey, has stowed away in his rucksack until the following morning. Chris must devise a means of concealing Momo in order to avoid returning him to Malick's ravenous grasp. However, handling a monkey has a number of benefits: Mara spends a lot of time with Chris, and Momo even lends Chris a hand on the football field. Chris' summer is almost certain to be filled with monkey business, but will it be enough to drive him insane?
