A lone village in the Iron Age was under the watchful eye of a looming shadow. Village children have been kidnapped and offered as sacrifices to a mythical beast known as the Minotaur, who dwells beneath a massive palace, for years. For reasons that are unclear, Theo believes that the beast does not exist and that his love remains a captive in the palace. Despite the pleas of his father Cyrnan, the village chief, Theo is enraged and refuses to return. They take him along with the other young people who have been taken away from their homes.
