Meet the Spartans is a spoof of sword-and-sandal epics made by the same people who made Scary Movie and Date Movie. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer worked together to write and direct the 20th Century Fox movie. Sure, Leonidas may have nothing but a cape and some leather underwear to protect him from the razor-sharp swords of his Persian enemies.
