Finding true love is never simple. For Ravi Patel, a first-generation Indian-American, the chances of success are minimal to nonexistent. Beautiful, intelligent, and witty, she is family-oriented, kind, and, in keeping with tradition, she hails from the country of India (though hopefully raised in the US). Her last name should be Patel, by the way, because in India, Patels are more likely to marry other Patels. As a result, at the age of 30, Ravi chooses to quit his relationship with his American fiancée (who, by all accounts, is the perfect match for him except for her red hair and American name) and begin on a worldwide hunt for another Patel yearning to be beloved. He enlists the assistance of his matchmaker mother, attends a convention of Patels who live in the United States, and travels to India during wedding season. This comedy, which is witty, honest, and genuine, explores the topics that we all grapple with: What is love? What is friendship? What exactly is happiness?
