Mademoiselle Paradis
Vienna in the 18th century. Maria Theresia von Paradis, a brilliant pianist and close friend of Mozart's, was born blind and had to learn to see again as a child. Dr. Mesmer is a forward-thinking physician who provides Maria with the care and attention she demands. The Paradis are desperate to heal their talented daughter and leave Maria to Dr. Mesmer. Maria gradually regains her sight thanks to the doctor's cutting-edge magnetic treatments. However, this miracle comes at a cost, as the woman gradually begins to lose her ability to sing as a result of the operation.
