In the north of London, Wendy and Andy have two twenty-something twins named Natalie and Nicola. Besides working in a shop, Wendy leads aerobics at a primary school, makes fun of herself like a vaudeville act, and serves drinks at a friend's new restaurant. She also buys a broken-down lunch wagon with a friend who is drunk, and they fix it up together. A plumber by trade, Natalie has short neat hair and is quick and sarcastic. She's going on vacation in the United States, but not much else is planned. After that is Nicola, the weirdo: a big snarl, a big cigarette and big glasses. He also has messy hair and jittery fingers. He doesn't have a job, is bulimic, and is sad. The movie is about how they interact with each other and how they deal with family problems and love in the movie.
