Last Kind Words
Eli, 17, and his family go to the distant farm of reclusive Waylon, a man whose shadowy history threatens to consume him. Eli's family strives to rehabilitate the barren fields, while he develops an interest in the forests. Eli encounters the strange Amanda on the farm when she gives him an apple. The following day, she coerces him into promising to stay out from the deep woods. As a result of a violent meeting with his father, he breaks this pledge one night and discovers her body hanging from a tree.
