Lacombe, Lucien
As Lucien Lacombe, a young man growing up in rural France during World War II who hopes to join the French Resistance, Louis Malle's acclaimed drama is set in the countryside. When he is turned down for a job because of his youth, Lucien becomes enraged and joins the Nazis' Gestapo in France, which is known as the Gallic Gestapo.
