In the Beginning
France, modern day. A con artist poses as the foreman of a highway expansion construction site. Until he meets the mayor of a tiny village that the road will pass through, he defrauds the entire region, employs dozens of employees, and cynically enjoys the profits of his scheme. She intrigues and unsettles him before introducing him to a world he was previously unaware of: emotions. How far will he go to save his victims and escape his own lies?
