Ghost in the Shell Arise - Border 1: Ghost Pain
The story takes place in 2027, a year after the conclusion of the fourth non-nuclear war on the planet. When a self-propelled mine explodes in New Port City, the city is still reeling from the war's consequences. Then a military member who had been accused in bribes for arms deals is assassinated. During the course of the inquiry, Daisuke Aramaki of the Public Security Section comes face to face with Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg wizard-level hacker assigned to the military's 501st Secret Unit. Batou, a man who possesses the "eye that never sleeps," believes that Kusanagi is the mastermind behind the blast. Togusa, a detective from the Niihama Prefectural Police, is currently investigating two cases: a shooting death and the murder of a prostitute. Head of the 501st Secret Unit, Kurutsu, and cyborg agents keep a close eye on Motoko and her activities.
