A polygamist colony in southern Utah's polygamist community is the setting for ELECTRIC CHILD, which follows the story of hyperactive girl Rachel. On Rachel's 15th birthday, she discovers a cassette tape that she had been prohibited to listen to. Rachel plays the cassette tape since she's never heard anything like it before and is blown away by the rock & roll she hears. Rachel discovers weeks later that a miracle has occurred and that the cassette tape must have played a role in it. She flees to the nearest big city, Las Vegas, leaving her family behind. On the cassette tape, she tries to locate the band's lead singer. An ELECTRICK CHILD, she discovers at the end of her tumultuous journey.
