Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Sue Ellen Crandell, who is in her teenage years, is looking forward with great anticipation to the time when her mother will be away for the summer. Sue Ellen can go out and have a good time without worrying about her rowdy younger siblings because a babysitter will be watching them. However, the babysitter suddenly passes away, leaving the Crandell family in a difficult financial situation. Sue Ellen is able to secure a desirable position in the fashion industry by embellishing both her age and her level of expertise on her resume. However, while her younger siblings enjoy the carefree life of childhood, she is forced to confront the shortcomings of adulthood.
