Doctor Sleep
Dan Torrance, who has been through a lot and is an alcoholic, meets Abra, a little girl who also has the capacity to "shine." He makes an effort to shield her from the True Knot, a sect whose objective is to maintain their own immortality by consuming the lives of people similar to them. The Shining, which was written by Stephen King in 1977, has a sequel called Doctor Sleep. After the events of the original "Shining," the events of "Doctor Sleep" take place several decades later.
