Gunnery Sergeant Burns reports for duty in the Middle East at an American Embassy. However, as a result of the Ambassador's 'enlightened' ideas, the marine security detachment he commands is severely constrained in its functions and presence in order to avoid upsetting the host government. As a result, terrorists are able to capture hostages and flee with little resistance when they attack the compound. Burns disregards the Ambassador's restrictions and tosses the rule books out the window in an attempt to rescue the captives and eliminate the terrorists as a one-man army.
