1897. Dead for a Dollar follows veteran bounty hunter Max Borlund deep into Mexico, where he meets professional gambler and bandit Joe Cribbens. Joe Cribbens is a sworn enemy of Max's, and Max was responsible for sending him to prison years before. Rachel Kidd, the wife of a wealthy Santa Fe businessman, is now being held captive, and Borlund's job is to rescue her and bring her back to her husband. Max is finally put in a position where he must make a decision after learning that Mrs. Kidd has genuinely escaped an abusive marriage. He can either finish the dishonest task he's been recruited to accomplish or he can step aside while deadly mercenary outlaws and his long-time competitor close in...
