Swantham, Daivathinte Cleetus is centered on Cleetus (Mammootty), a notorious long-haired rogue. He astounds the parish priest (Siddique) with his remarkable physical and demeanor similarity to Jesus Christ. The priest recruits him to play Jesus Christ in a light and sound display for their upcoming festival. During rehearsals, his true self comes to light. Although the priest discovers that he is a goon, he continues to work with him in the hope that the experience of portraying the noble persona will alter him. After that, Cleetus's life changes dramatically. Events that transpired in Jesus Christ's life begin to occur in Cleetus's life as well. The rest of the plot is determined by what happens to Cleetus and those around him.
