The youngest, Bobby (Patrick Dempsey), is a gorgeous reform school rebel. They used to fight a lot as kids, and now they scarcely communicate. In the summer of1963, their tough and eccentric father, Fred (Alan Arkin), assigns them the duty of transporting a 1954 Cadillac from Detroit to Miami for their mother, Betty (Rita Taggart). As the journey progresses, the three brothers argue and reunite with one another while trying to keep the Caddy in tip-top shape.
