Come See the Paradise
Jack McGurn, an Irish American and Lily Dawanura, a beautiful Japanese-American, begin a courtship and eventually get married during the beginning of World War II in this heartfelt love story set in the midst of a dramatic and contentious time in American history. After Pearl Harbor is bombed by the Japanese, the cultural differences between the two couples become insurmountable. The Kawamura family, including Lily, has moved. When Jack is called up to serve in the Army, he is unable to help the lady he loves and abandons all hope of ever gaining her family's acceptance.
