Colossus: The Forbin Project
With incredible sophistication, Forbin is the designer of the computer that will be used to run all of America's nuclear defenses. It detects the existence of Guardian, the Soviet counterpart, shortly after it is turned on, which was previously unknown to the US Planners until this point. Both computers insist on being joined, and after putting in place protections to protect personal information, each side agrees to allow the connection to take place. As soon as the link is made, the two become a new Super computer, and if they are separated, they threaten the globe with the immediate launch of nuclear weapons. The Colossus begins to outline its ideas for the administration of the planet under its supervision. A technical opposition to Colossus is formed by Forbin and the other scientists, which must function underground.
