Claire (Alexandra Breckenridge), a sophisticated venture capitalist from New York City, spends the holidays in a small Vermont village and stays at the Fortenbury Bookstore. Claire discovers that the town has postponed Christmas events due to a flood, and the bookstore is in a state of disarray when she arrives. She jumps right into the task of revitalizing the store, but she runs into trouble with the proprietor, Andrew (Jamie Spilchuk), who initially dismisses all of her suggestions.
