Chasing Bullitt
January 1971- After an unexpected confrontation with his agency, Hollywood legend Steve McQueen agrees to a deal despite his initial reluctance to do so. On one condition, he will choose his next acting role: his agent must assist him in locating the classic Ford Mustang GT 390 from his groundbreaking film BULLITT, which he used as a prop. Steve ruminates on his accomplishments and failures as he makes his way through the desert and back to his hometown of Los Angeles. With the help of his memories, a picture of the man's life gradually emerges: a failing marriage, therapy, financial difficulties, and a diminishing professional career.
