Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a teenage student, is forced to enlist in the army when the war breaks out in 1941. The maiden reveals herself to be a natural-born sharpshooter, and her astounding talent and power set her apart from men and women alike. The German High Command sees Pavlichenko as a real threat and orders her to be killed no matter what it takes. Lyudmila meets and falls in love with a man in the meantime. The conflict fades into the background... However, Lyudmila soon suffers another setback, leaving the man she loves on the verge of death and herself critically injured. The girl is taken out of combat and later makes a publicity trip to the United States. Lyudmila is welcomed into the White House by Eleanor Roosevelt, and the two ladies quickly grow close.
