Mario Van Peebles describes the perilous production of his father Melvin's legendary 1971 film, "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song." As his father in the film, Van Peebles gives an unflinching depiction of Melvin's brazen and occasionally dishonest behavior on the set, including dubious stunts like as forging fraudulent checks, duping a local fire department, and allowing his son, Mario, to shoot explicit sex scenes at the age of 11.
