Andrei Rublev
This film is a sprawling Russian drama about the life of revered religious icon painter Andrei Rublev. The peace-seeking monk, drifting from place to place in a turbulent era, eventually gains a reputation for his art. However, after witnessing a brutal battle and inadvertently becoming involved, Rublev takes a vow of silence and takes time away from his work. As he begins to heal his troubled soul, he takes steps toward resuming his career as a painter.
