Adelaide Kay, a pop star in the making, is so fed up with her domineering manager that she sneaks off the tour bus after their latest argument. Despite being overjoyed at the prospect of being free, she finds herself stranded in the bitter cold of a Pennsylvania winter with no money and no plan. The Lapps, a local family, decide to take her in. They understand the genuine significance of the season, despite the fact that they are on the verge of losing their dairy farm. With the exception of Dillon, the oldest son, no one in the family recognizes Adelaide. He believes she is the key to making quick money and plans to photograph Adelaide around the property in order to sell the images to the tabloids. What he doesn't count on is the fact that they are attracted to each other.
