A Scene at the Sea
A deaf garbage man named Shigeru (Kurôdo Maki) finds a broken surfboard on one of his runs. Even though he doesn't know how to surf, it makes him want to learn. With the help of his deaf girlfriend, Takako (Hiroko Oshima), he fixes the board and sets out to learn how to surf the waves, which is what he wants to do. When he gets into trouble, the people in the area make fun of him. Then, with the help of a shop owner who used to be a legendary surfer, Shigeru may finally have a chance to become one with the sea and the people who love it.
