Liam Bradley (Dylan Bruce), a romance novelist, has already achieved massive success with three books written under the pen name Gabriel August, but he remains mysteriously unknown to his legions of readers. With his first book written as a way to heal after a broken relationship, Liam has gradually become disillusioned with writing solely for romantic fantasy, which is evident to Sophie Atkinson (Amy Acker), a sweet but honest journalist who reviews books, whom he meets by chance on a plane. The two begin a tentative relationship in Sophie's hometown of Portland, Oregon, where Liam has come to get ideas for his latest novel. Liam's agent puts him on the spot by revealing Gabriel August's true identity, but Sophie is unaware of his public persona. Liam dug himself a deeper hole the longer he delays telling her the truth. Will their relationship survive once his true identity is revealed?
