Julián Torralba used to be a stuntman for movies in Almeria, Spain. To make money, he and a few of his co-workers used to work on American Westerns shot in Spain. Now, they have to do stunt shows for small audiences on the set that was used for those Westerns. In the past, Julián's son, also a stuntman, died. He also has a daughter-in-law, Laura, and her son, Carlos. Carlos, a young boy, gets curious about his father's life and runs away to join Julián and his band of ex-people who haven't been. There, Carlos gets a taste of the wild and crazy life of these hard-drinking fake cowboys. As soon as Laura, a powerful businesswoman, finds out that Carlos has joined the hated Julián, she moves to get rid of even this last vestige of Julián's once-proud life. Julián and the cowboys decide to fight back in the only way they know how: with their guns.
